Kerry-Ann Lecky Hepburn:
I chose this photo by Kerry-Ann Lecky Hepburn as it connects to my thoughts on what i want to achieve in the exam. The dark clouds connotate a mysterious, depressed looking sky which creates an atmosphere of darkness as if a storm was coming. i also like the effect as if it was taken as a time-lapse as the clouds look like they are moving away from the photographer.
One reason why i chose this photo for my research is because of the different tones in the clouds and the effects of the 'never ending' sky.
Shaun Rowlings:
I chose these photos as they present a happy looking sky with calm and warm looking weather. For example in the first photo there is a small bit of wind as you can see in the grass angle. However, the bright sky add a brighter effect to the overall photo.
The second photo links to my ideas in my mind map. The clouds on the horizon with the sunset shows the gradient sky. I like how the yellow colours turn into orange nearer to the sea line. This could look even more effective with a bit of editing of curves and levels.
Lastly, this last photo by Shaun Rowlings is quite effective as you cant see the sun however you can see the effects of the sun behind the clouds and the difference of the tones in the sky. This connects to how i want to approach the exam question as one point is how i want to photograph the effects of the sun.
Stephan Shore:
I like this photo as it incorporates to sky photos. The artist Stephan Shore uses the editing in this photo to create a sense of continuousness of as bright sky, as if the weather is a everyday occurrence.
Masahisa Fukase:
This last photo by Masahisa is another way i want to look into the exam question. Looking at the group of birds with the dark sky gives a sense of danger or darkness. I shows a different approach to the topic and can be made even more effective with editing.
